The poodle’s country of origin is France, early 1500’s. The different sizes include toy poodle, miniature poodle, medium poodle and the standard poodle. Colors include black, white or apricot.
The standard poodle has superlative swimming abilities and was a retrieving water dog centuries ago. Elegant poodles of the Standard and Miniature sizes were popular among the nobles of France and Europe and the toy was bred in the early 20th century for a companion dog.
Known for their superior intelligence, the poodle has a curly hypoallergenic coat.
