Bufo Toads (Bufo Marinus) are a common inhabitant and invasive to Florida, Hawaii and Texas and can be toxic to your pet. Bufo Toads are known to exist around waterways and under bushes. They also come out after dark.
The Bufo Toad can be extremely poisonous if it comes in contact with your animal because of a gland that secretes a digitalis toxin. If your pet comes in contact with this toxin, they may begin to hyper-salivate and have extremely red gums. Contact may also cause a seizure, which is an utmost emergency! If your pet shows any of these signs, contact your veterinarian as quickly as possible!
