Toads are a common inhabitant and invasive to Florida, Hawaii and Texas and can be toxic to your pet. The Bufo Marinus Toad exists around waterways and under bushes. They also come out after dark. This toad can be extremely poisonous if it comes in contact with your animal because of a gland that secrets a digitalis toxin. If your pet comes in contact with this toxin your animal may begin to hyper-salivate and have extremely red gums. It may also have seizures, which are an utmost emergency. If your animal shows any of these signs, contact your veterinarian as quickly as possible.
